Bye Bye Midland....Hello Lansing!

February 16

Hey everyone!! This week was amazing!! :D I mean every week as a missionary is amazing but this week was seriously just great! :) Here are some of my highlights!

We were able to go to the temple this week with our recent convert, and can I just say there is no better place in the entire world than the temple! :) I am so thankful for the House of the Lord. I felt so much peace and felt that everything in my life was just right. If you ever have a question about anything go to the temple. I promise it will lead and help you through anything you may be going through! :) I loved being able to see Nancy all in white and to share that incredible experience with her. She is so strong and I look up to her so much.

This week we had to say goodbye to some of my favorite people in the world. Alicia and Anna our two wonderful girls from Germany went home. We had the chance to teach them all of the lessons before they went home, I am so thankful for the chance we had to meet them, love them, teach them and feel of their incredible spirits. They have changed my heart, and now part of me goes with them to Germany. As a missionary I feel like my heart is all over the entire world, is that even possible? :) I have decided as a missionary it is! :D

We had Elder Nash of the 70 come to our mission this week and it was awesome!!! :D I mean meetings are missionaries are so SO great, we learned all about being better missionaries and something that I loved that we talked about is how angels truly do guide and direct us. I love the scripture in D&C 84:88, it made my whole week.

Well everyone this week Valentines Day and for all of you that don't have Valentines or you are away from home I just want you to know that us missionaries are praying for you and also that you Heavenly Father loves you more than anything! He truly is always there and answers all of our prayers. I hope you all have had a wonderful week and I hope that this week is even better wherever you may be! :D

I love this gospel, it is true. It changes lives and hearts and it has and continues to change mine!
Love Sister Chisholm <3

 Valentine's pancakes....she's a little like her mother.....
Roses from her daddy on Valentines!
 Gong to the temple!

A wonderful day being this sweet ladies escort at the temple!

February 23

Well hey everyone! This week has been such a whirlwind! :) The crazy news is that I am leaving Midland, the city of churches and heading on down the main city here in Michigan... Lansing!! :D I am so excited for this new adventure that is set before me! I know that the Lord has a plan for each of us and that transferring is all part of our learning and progression.

This week has been great! We have been able to teach our investigators and they are seeing progression. I am really excited for them all to move forward and continue in their testimonies. We found this amazing less active women this week that is just the sweetest lady. She is just a little lost, but I know that Heavenly Father lead up to her so that she may feel the spirit again.

In other news I have loved serving here in Midland, and I am so excited to go and serve in Lansing. There are so many lessons and people that I have met here that have changed my life for good. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, our Redeemer and that he performed the Atonement so that we all may be able to become better. I know that through a prophet of God the gospel has been restored. I love my mission. I love the people here in Michigan and I am thankful for the support I receive and prayers that are said back in good ole Utah and all around the world.

This week a scripture that has truly helped me out this week is Alma 17 vs 2-3. It is all about when Alma gets to see his friends again and he is so thankful because they are still firm in the faith. We must all strive to continue in our faith, become better disciples of Christ and to press forward. I love this work!

This was from her letter to me this week, I had to put it on here because it was so sweet and I know she'll want to remember writing it.......

I have loved meeting people that have such different types of backgrounds then me. They have truly changed the way I look at life. It makes me think of the song from wicked, " I heard it said, that people come into my life for a reason, bringing something we must learn, and we are lead to someone who helps us most to grow, if we let them and we help them in return... I have been changed for good." I truly feel that way right now, I am excited to leave and have adventures and to see who else I can love in Lansing but I will always have part of my heart here in Midland. <3

My best memory of Midland, man that is a tough question. I have so many of them. Here's one that just came to my mind though, the first time we taught Jason, we had a really neat lesson with him and found out that his issue was with the priesthood, he just didn't understand that we needed authority to act in Gods name. At that moment I realized how important truly the priesthood is. Ever since then I have had such a strong testimony of the priesthood. I know that we are blessed by the priesthood and that through the priesthood we are able to receive eternal life. I have loved being able to testify of that and help others understand the importance of it. There are so many memories here in Midland though, they range from riding bikes in the pouring rain, to having hot cocoa at the jones, to teaching incredible lessons that make me cry and to feeling the spirit help lead and guide me as I am an instrument in the Lords hands. I have become a missionary here, and will take the lessons I have learned throughout the rest of my mission and for the rest of my life.

This week I definitely felt the spirit the strongest during my blessing. It talked about angels again, which I loved and he talked about how I need to have faith to walk the unseen road. I truly loved that. This transfer I am going to work on my increasing faith and try really hard to put my full trust in the Lord and in his timing. It also talked about having courage, and that I have been a impact on my area. It also talked about my leadership here, I feel like it also was a be at peace blessing that helped me know that whatever happens is all in the Lords plan.

So funny story from the week is Sister Lau has started calling me district mom, she keeps calling me that because she says I have a lot of love for everyone around me. I laughed but I sure do love these missionaries!

Love Sister Chisholm <3

A satellite picture of Michigan.....chilly!!!

We received a pkg from her this week. How funny.....if you know us, you know how they butcher our name ALL THE TIME...but it's funny when the church does it too!!!!

A great district of wonderful missionaries in Midland.
Thanks to this great Elder for giving her a blessing she really needed this week!

Goodbye to wonderful friends who have taught her so much!

A new door approach, a funny note on her door and lots of Service!

So this was on a doorstep this week! :O we just laughed it off, don't worry though we didn't get a "sue happy" lawyer called on us! #thisismidland
I finally got to make the brownies you sent me! They were a little gooey in the middle...perfect!
Brother Pennock had a stroke last week and we had the chance to visit them and help them a little bit before they had to move to go to rehab! I LOVE this family! I will miss them so SO much!

This is the Hemingways! I love them! #snowbirds #goingtoflordia #maybetheywillseesistermalm
I may or may not use a golf ball to knock on doors...........
hahaha maybe I posed with my golf ball knocking on our apartment door.. :) Good times! :D

Sometimes we like to take selfies in the mirror during lunch.. :) haha

2/2/15 I LOVE my ward, seriously I will cry when I leave Midland. They are literally the best, we had dinners every single night this week and we have one every night for this upcoming week too! #fatfatfat actualy I am trying to cut down on bread, so I haven't been eating it very much at all! :) But yeah they are awesome, we had Ward Conference yesterday and it was INCREDIBLE!!! Members out here are just so strong. Our theme for this stake is 2 Nephi 31:20 which is one of my all time favorites, I am going to talk a little bit about it in my other email but yeah, the members are great! We had dinner last night with the Smith family, oh this is funny! So Alex is their daughter, she is 13 and she totally loves my box that I made, it holds my scriptures to protect them, but so she saw my family cuz you are all on the front and she was like you have super cute brother, when you come back to michigan after your mission you have to introduce me! hahaha Oh man.. She was talking about Brennan too.. That boy he just has all the girls flocking over him even the girls here in Midland!! haha :) So that was funny! We have some good times with our members, they really like having us come over and every time I feel like I am back home again because half the time the families are so darn hilarious!! :D Especially cuz like three families here have a girl that is 9 and looks just like Gracie! I can't wait for you all to meet them when we come!
This week it hasn't been too cold, actually on Saturday, our day without a car it was almost 40 degrees! I was actually hot in my coat and scarf! We talked to 21 people that day, it was pretty great! :D
Oh mom guess what?!?! We had a lesson with stephanie, and it was INCREDIBLE!!!! Listen to this cool story, so she has been looking for a church right? And so we came knocked on her door and stuff and then that night she was telling her husband about us and he is like is that the church that doesn't believe in Jesus Christ? And she was like oh my goodness I hope not because I won't join it if it is.. So then she said that all night she was up thinking about it and then when her husband woke up for work she sat up and was like no, they definitely believe in Jesus Christ because the church is called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, it was so awesome. We had a great lesson with her and she is reading the book of mormon, and already downloaded the Gospel Library app. She is amazing. I am so SO excited to continue to teach her! We also taught Jason a great lesson this week, he is so incredible. I feel like they both are just so prepared it is so amazing to see!

So here's some awesome updates!
We had district meeting on Wednesday and we got told to start using the approach on door steps of We are Your Missionaries and we are here to serve you and to invite you to learn about Christ! Okay, I LOVE!!!! Sister Lau and I have been using it all week. It just makes me think of the song Called to Serve we literally have been called to serve and now we are being told to use that as our actual approach! I love it! The assistants came to our district meeting as well, that was interesting. I know it is because of our district leader, but anyways we also learned about how we should our pamphlets more often on the door steps and in lessons! Elder Green one of the assistants talked with us about using them and I learned so much! Elder Nash is coming to our mission next week which is going to be awesome! I always learn the best when people teach me! It's great! :D

We taught a lesson to our kind of investigators but they are Snow birds.. haha that means they leave Michigan in the winter, great name right? And so they are leaving this week.. :( They weren't really progressing but they are seriously the sweetest people ever!  I will send you some pics of them today! They are so SO sweet, and she totally has the Michigander accent. I love Michigan! :D

We had a chance to help out at a baby shower this week! It was a members, non member sister! She is so sweet! But we got to help Sister Wheeler make the drinks, help with the games and then just be there to help set up and stuff! It was awesome! I just kept thinking about how we truly are called to serve. It makes my whole day, when we are serving others we completely forget about ourselves and it is just the best way to live life, and it helps me have true happiness! :D We also helped jump start Valerie's car! That was great!! :D I was so happy that dad taught me how to jump start cars last year! Our recent convert Patti,  had a problem with her Kidney this week, so she had to go to the doctors and get everything checked out! So she wound up calling us and we headed right over, Missionaries to the rescue! haha :) She needed to clean her house and everything so we made her dinner, cleaned, and vacuumed her house! Another time we were able to just serve. Last night we taught Heather but her little sister wouldn't go to bed so we wound up reading some bible stories to her and she just loved it! This morning Heather sent us the sweetest text about how much she appreciated it, it truly was such a great week full of service! :D There were some major ups and downs of this week but these were some of the highs!

2/9/15  We Are YOUR missionaries, and we are here to serve you and invite you to learn about Christ.
Hey everyone! This week was amazing! :D Also that heading is totally the new way we talk to people on doorsteps, it has made me really think about why we are here on our missions! We are here to serve! It's really helped people want to talk to us a little bit more as we have been more willing to actually serve them!

We had such a blessing this week!! We have these two girls in our ward that have been living with our Bishop and his family since I got here in September and they have been attending seminary, church, reading and everything. (Awesome right?!) So anyways Bishop didn't want us to teach them (Alicia and Anna)  out of respect of their parents in Germany and so they had just been going to seminary and doing all the things that members do and this week after having a great dinner with them and teaching their family about faith Bishop said that we could teach them!! :D For all of you on missions, this is like the best blessing ever! Investigators right in your laps! So we were able to teach them 6 lessons this week, which has been a blessing of itself to finally get to teach some lessons past the first 2 lessons! :D They are incredible, and I can't wait for them to join the church in Germany when they go home. We had a lesson with them about the commandments and we gave them these cute little heart puzzles with all of the commandments on them. It was pretty cute! :)

We have been also working a lot with less actives and recent converts in our ward! We were able to go to dinner with a family in our ward this week the places and they had actually invited a part member family to dinner with them! It was great, Julie has been saying she is planning on coming back to church and her husband (the nonmember) Robert wanted to know when we were going to be able to have dinner with them again! :) It was such a blessing to be able to be there with them that night and to hear how they were doing and to share the "missionary" spirit with them!

We had a great lesson with our investigator Jason this week, he is progressing so well! We actually taught him the Plan of Salvation since that last time he was taught it was back in like 2011 and he loved it! I made the cute little layout of it all and he loved all the visuals! Visuals are the best way to teach, I love the Plan of Salvation our Heavenly Father truly has given us a perfect plan and all we have to do is follow it and we will eternally happy. I am so thankful for the knowledge of this plan, families are forever! :)

Last but not least, yesterday we had a fantastic lesson on the Book of Mormon with our investigator Penny, we hadn't been able to teach them for a bit but last time we saw them they had made the goal to read the Book of Mormon before the year was over and Penny was already to Words of Mormon! It was amazing to see her progression! :)

I love this work! The gospel is true, the Book of Blue! Have a great week! :)

This is us and Anna and Alicia!
I love them!!

Life is too long to not enjoy it...so EMBARK on it!!!

Cute Sister Chizzy has had a great few weeks! She got to go to the temple with two of her recent converts and was able to help them find family names to do there! She loved the Detroit temple and said even though it's small, its BEAUTIFUL! She got to teach the Activity Day girls at church and was so excited that they were all wearing a little if not ALL pink! We are so proud of her and how well she is doing. She admits there are hard things and that she is tired and sometimes a little discouraged when people won't listen to their message, but she says she loves her mission more than absolutely anything...except her family. (as a side note she said Lake Powell and Disneyland are right up there too, but nothing comes close to her mission!) we love that even though she's focused and so obedient, she is still her cute little self and is happy and doing great!

Hey everyone! :D This week has been amazing! Okay I know I totally say that like every week, but really being a missionary is the best thing ever! I learn so much every single day! This week we had some really great experiences, we got to go to the Detroit Temple with our recent converts, Patti, which she got baptized in May and then Valerie who I was able to teach her and see her be baptized. I cannot explain to all of you how amazing it is to see a person that you taught, saw change, saw use the Atonement of Jesus Christ and become a member of His church walk into the temple of the Lord. It's a life changing experience, we were able to help her find some names on family search this week as well and she was able to be baptized for her great grandmother. Along with that a member of our ward, one of her best friends was able to be baptized for her father. It was incredible! I know that the temple is the house of the Lord and I know that this is Christ's church. I know that without a shadow of a doubt.
We have been visiting families in our ward and sharing D&C 4 with all of them, and we have been challenging them to pick an attribute like patience, virtue, long suffering, charity or one of those and work on it and to become better disciples of Christ. I would invite each of you to do that as well, I know that we set a goal and work to achieve it we can. We actually were able to teach one of our investigators Penny about goals this week, we talked about Heavenly Fathers goal which is for each of us to receive eternal life. However, we must set goals to make it there. I know that with his help we can achieve all things. I know this gospel is true, I am so blessed to be part of the Lords army! Also.. If you haven't check out the youth theme song for this year.. Oh man, it's great! Hope you all have a fantastic week! Here's a quote for you all..  " Love is the very essence of the gospel, and Jesus Christ is our exampler!" :)
Love Sister Chisholm <3

Yes I do love quotes.. :) So there is one that is totally awesome! I mean really, life is too long to not love every second of it! Anyways, this week has been great! :D We have been working hard and this week some of that hard work has been seen!

We picked up a new investigator named Stephanie that is just stellar! Out here in MIdland, people won't really listen unless they really actually have a reason to and she totally did! She said that she has been looking for a church, we got that, she said that we could come back, did that, and she also said that she wants a friends with good standards... Check! :D Seriously this girl is awesome! She has a son that has autsim and he is seriously the cutest little guy, well besides Eisley ever! :D We taught her the Restoration and she said that what we taught answered so many of her questions, she didn't think that God would stop giving us revelation and so she loved the idea that we continue to receive revelation. the spirit was so strong, and she felt it. I am thankful for that opportunity I had to be there to be an instrument in that lesson!

Another really cool experience that happened this week was with our less actives! We wound up having dinner with a member with one, and she said that she plans on coming back to church! Awesome right?! She also is going to school to be a dental assistant and is convinced that I will also become one.. Dad you definitely have trained me enough! :D haha but then we also found a less active that fell away right after she joined in March! She let us in and let us pray with her and she wound up telling us everything that has happened. Listening is such a great skill, I have come to really understand what it means to listen with real intent that is for sure! :D We also taught a couple recent convert lessons and they all went great! I would recommend the movie finding faith in Christ if you haven't seen it. It's great! :D

Yesterday we had our ward conference and it again taught me how important it is to press forward with a steadfastness in Christ. Our theme for this year is 2 Nephi 31:20 and I know that as we do so with with a firm Hope we will be able to make it through anything that comes our way! I know that Jesus is the Christ. He is my Savior, my Redeemer and my friend. I know this is his Church on the earth today. This gospel is true!
Have a wonderful week and don't forget..
"Living the gospel is easy, not living the gospel is hard! "

Also.. For all of you that don't know.. I may have a small love for Frozen... It took all of my energy to not buy this!!! :D

I am Proud to Be a Missionary........

Hey everyone! :D We had such a great week out here in Midland, it involved, setting an investigator on date, door knocking in the 10 degree weather plus wind chill so like -10, transfer calls, finding out we can go to the temple... :) and  and singing songs about how we are proud to be missionaries! :D It was definitely a great week! We are seeing so many miracles here in Midland, even if they are little things like being let into someones home or having the chance to share our testimonies! Here's a couple stories from this week,
We went to contact a referral we received last wee and so we knocked on their door and they let us right in! We had a little mini lesson with them because they were having dinner, and we established our purposes as missionaries and found out what they wanted out of us. They are looking for a church and they seemed so sincere! We are going back this week on Thursday to meet with them again. It was such a tender mercy, we are really having a hard time keeping investigators and so it was great to see their real intent. We are praying that it all goes through! :D

Our investigator Jason is now on date to be baptized, he is so amazing! he actually lives in Detroit, so he won't be joining the ward here in Midland, but I know that the people out in Detroit need his spirit. I mean he is one of those guys that you just are like, wow.. You are prepared! On Monday when we had his lesson Sis Lau and I had been praying about a date and we felt good about August 15, and yes that is super far away but, trust me it's all what has to happen! He is married to a catholic woman, and she is pregnant and yeah it's just crazy stuff, but we felt good about August 15 and so we were teaching him and talking about how we need to set a goal and so Brother Jones showed him a calender and he was like August 15 sounds good! The spirit is real. It helps us make decisions! I know that to be true!

So on Saturdays in our mission we can't drive our cars, that's always an adventure! So we were out door knocking, we had an appointment fall through so we went to our backups which was to knock this pretty busy street! So we start knocking it, and we meet this guy. He totally bashed the Book of Mormon, he said it isn't true and that it is from a demon.. :O It was terrible, but instead of bashing back sister lau and I both testified that we knew it to be true, and that the bible and Book of Mormon testify of one another. He shut the door speechless, don't ever dis the Book of Mormon to missionaries, they always will win! :D This is the same day we made up our song about being proud to be missionaries! We were getting quite a bit of rejection that day so everytime we had the door shut on us we just started singing we are proud to be a missionary and we know this gospel is true! We won't forget the saints who died and proclaimed is truth to, so will gladly stand up in front of you and share his word to you cuz their ain't no doubt I love this work We are god's army!! :) haha That was pretty rocky, but it's true! :D

We got some amazing news this week! Our mission is going to be able to go to the temple every 6 months, and we can go with recent converts if we help them get names! :) This is such a blessing because before we could only go at the very end of our missions! I cannot wait to attend the temple this week with my recent convert Valerie! I know that the temple is the closest place that we can be to God. If you can, go to the temple every week! It's the best place in the world! :D
I hope you all have a wonderful week! Keep smiling, reading the Book of Mormon and praying! Read Moroni 10 if you can.. Find all the times Moroni exhorts us to do something... Mind =blown!! :D
Love Sister Chisholm! <3

For New Year's Eve the missionaries went to a members house where they got to have breakfast for dinner (one of Jen's favorite things) and then set off Chinese or "Tangled" lanterns! She loved it!

 Ice skating on P-day!

I had a pizza delivered to my favorite missionary companionship! I even had them write "love mom" on the box....little did I know that the night it was delivered was a huge snow storm so they were stranded in their apartment.....lucky for them!!!!! The perks of having a missionary in the States!!!

Goodbye Sister Smith and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

This week Sister Chizzy said goodbye to her companion and now she is training by herself for another 6 weeks. She learned a lot from Sister Smith and will miss her, but is thankful for the time she had with her! The snow came....and the cold. I'm glad she has warm boots and hand warmers!!!!

Hey everyone! I hope you had a fantastic week and that things are going well! I hope you all had lots of candy, treats, family and goal setting going on this week! I am positive that 2015 will be the best year ever! :)
We had a great start to the new year! We had the chance to be with some of our recent converts on New Years eve, that was a blast. We had root beer floats and we got to play uno and even stay out until 10. Man it was exciting! :) haha We had a great time and then we woke up and continued to find people that want to change their lives around. :)
Here's a couple tender mercies from the week..
We knocked into this guy named Jeff, he is Lutheran and invited us right in and we wound up teaching him the Restoration and about the Book of Mormon, come to find out he had known our old Bishop, Bishop Place. He was really nice to us and fed us pizza! that testified again to me how important ward members are and how we truly are all examples to the people around us. You never know who may be watching, for the good.
That same day we were finishing off that street and we knocked into this girl Stephanie that was so sweet and told us that she had been praying about joining a church just that morning and that she had just realized that our church was on the street that it was just earlier that week! She said we can come and teach her more tomorrow, so pray that, that lesson goes through. She is incredible!

This is a pretty cool story. We were going to Patty and Curts to give them some cookies last night cuz they couldn't make it to church because Curt had to go plow the roads, and we were walking in when I noticed this girl trying to get the snow and ice off her car and without even thinking about it I grabbed our scraper and walked right over come to find out that she was using her shoe to get the snow and ice off. It was such a great service opportunity! Heavenly Father watches over everyone even just when we are trying to get snow off our cars! haha :) I love serving, service is how we forget ourselves. Its amazing! Well things are good out here! We are working hard, doing our best to stay warm and having fun while doing so! I know this is the Lords work, I know mom that he is mindful of you and that he mindful of us all!

This week the snow came!! Oh man it came and it brought the freezing weather, however it's so beautiful! I love the white wonderland that the snow creates it makes for a beautiful landscape. We had a lot of fun shoveling our ward missionaries drive way and having hot cocoa afterword. We also were able to help scrape some snow off of others cars. serving is really the best way to forget yourself. I have found that to be true on my mission. It's definitely one of my goals for this new year, to always look for ways to serve, we learn in Mosiah, that when we are in the service in our fellow men we are only in the service of our God. I know that to be true. I know that this is Christ's church, I know that he restored it in it's fullness to the prophet Joseph Smith. :) I have found this out by studying for myself and praying with real intent. I know that if you ever have doubts He is there to help and to answer our questions! I hope you all have a wonderful new year and that things are going well!

Merry Christmas from Midland!

Sister Chizzy enjoyed a wonderful Christmas in Michigan! She was very very well taken care of and had so much fun at the members houses and at her mission conference. We were so thrilled to talk to her on the phone on Christmas day and loved hearing her cute, sweet laugh. She is loving her mission and the people she is serving in Michigan!

Hey everyone! I hope that you all had a fantastic week, I truly hope that it was full of Christ, family and the pure sense of giving! That is what this season is all about. :) I want to thank everyone that sent me cards and thought about me while I am all the way out here in Michigan! I heard that it was white Christmas for all of you which is super awesome, we had a little tiny bit of snow so that was fun too!
This week I learned a lot about how we can make out weaknesses become strengths. It all comes from the scripture ether 12:27. Through Jesus Christ I know that our weaknesses can become strengths, I have seen it in myself. We were able to teach one of our less active members and she realized how her self pride is what is keeping her from coming to church and reading. The thing is she is not the only one. The whole Book of Mormon is about the people and their pride cycles, as we humble ourselves to the Lord and ask for strength we will receive that guidance and strength to overcome our weaknesses.
This week we had so many wonderful miracles, here are a couple of them, we found 3 new people to teach, Kelly, Maxine and Jack. That was a miracle in of itself, we have been on a little drought of finding people so what an amazing experience to find them this week! :) Definitely a Christmas Miracle!! :D
On Christmas Eve we had a half mission party!! We learned a lot about finding, which was great and we also got to play a bunch of games! it was a blast, it's so nice to sometimes take a minute to step back and just enjoy being a missionary! I loved it, my mission president is amazing. He helps us all feel so important I am so thankful for that. :) We also got to sing at our half mission party, we sang with 4 of us, I think it went pretty well! I love music, it really helps us feel the spirit that is for sure! We were able to have dinner with a family in our ward that night and we got to help them with their nativity they did. I really enjoyed being a part of someone elses Christmas Eve.
Christmas was incredible! Family is amazing. It is central to God's plan I know that is true! :D I LOVE LOVE LOVE my family, they are the best I want you all to know that! haha
I was spoiled out here in Midland, oh man so spoiled we had meals with a member for every meal it was great. Its amazing being a missionary during the Christmas season, it helped me see other peoples traditions and I loved it. Christmas is about Christ, I love the spirit during this time of year. It's that pure love of Christ. Continue to love and serve others throughout this entire year!
One of my favorite miracles was on Saturday. We were out door knocking and on Saturdays our missions can't use cars so we were out walking and we all were a bit uptight because these people had let us into their home but they just wanted to bash us and tell us that we were wrong.. #notcool so anyways we were walking home for dinner and we walked past this lady and she's all wait stop!! And were like what the? So then we walk over there and she's like are you girls caroling? and were all, no but I mean we can if you want us too! So then she let us in her home and had us sing like 5 songs for her kids and family! :) It was SO sweet! we sang them I am a Child of God and it was so cool to bring the spirit into that little home. I loved it! Then she was like I want to feed you something but I don't have anything and then she comes out with exactly three pieces of cheesecake and hands it to us! :D It was so nice! I loved it! That was such a blessing, for us and then she gave us her number and wants us to come back! :) What a great week. I loved it so much! This is Jesus Christ's gospel, he has called each of us to help him in this work I know it is true! Have a great week!
Love Sister Chisholm <3

Hey everyone!! :) Merry Christmas, I hope that you all have a wonderful Christmas! It is truly the time that we are able to remember our savior and to focus on family and serving others!
This week has been great! Our trio is diving and conquering and we are dominating life! :D We are working hard and having a great time as well. We got to play the chimes in our ward Christmas party talk about awesomeness, who would've guessed that on my mission I would learn to play the chimes, it's definitely a cool instrument to play! :D
So I must tell you all that if you are ever having a hard day go check out Angels we have heard on high or angels on the realms of glory by david archuleta and like piano guys because in reality it is fantastic! We had dinner at a members, the Duncans on Tuesday and they showed us that video, it was amazing! Seriously I loved it, so if you get the chance check it out!
So onto the miracles for a minute...
1. This week we were able to have interviews with President Jacobsen and we were able to have a great district meeting on how important it is that the people we meet know our purpose. When they know our purpose as missionaries we will be able to see the elect and help them come unto Christ. It was great! :)
2. We had a wonderful trade off with our Sister Training Leaders, Sister Guest came out here to Midland and she is just the sweetest sister in the world. She helped me a lot, and was able to tell us how to find and work even harder!
3. So this coming week is Christmas and as for all of us missionaries out here in Michigan we are having a half mission Christmas party/training/talent show, and as a district well the sisters in my district we are singing the song He was Here from the Forgotten Carols and so part of my email I want to talk about the lost or forgotten songs from that play. The song we are singing is about the shepherds and about this one Shepard that actually falls asleep and misses the whole thing. It makes me think of President Uchdorfs talk to the priesthood in the last conference in April called are we sleeping through the restoration? It's so important that at this Christmas season although there is so much hustle and bustle we always remember the reason for the season which is Christ. I have started reading Matthew along with the bible each morning and I have started to really realize how many miracles Jesus Christ performed along with all the service he gave. When we strive to be representatives of him at all times others are able to come to know for themselves that Jesus Christ lives.
I know that he lives. I know that he was born in a stable in the most humble circumstances. He is my savior as he is all of yours. I hope you all have a very merry Christmas!
